Derrick City firefighters were called to a house fire on Harrisburg Run at around 5:30 this morning.
When they arrived they found heavy smoke coming from the back of the building, and soon learned the back porch was engulfed in flames and the homeowner was trying to put it out.
Damage was contained to the back porch and kitchen area.
No injuries were reported.
The fire has been ruled accidental, but an investigation is continuing.
Limestone firefighters were on the scene as well.
