Police have released the name of the suspect in Thursday’s armed standoff on Onofrio Street.
Police say they were dispatched for a mental health welfare check shortly after noon on Thursday and found that 37-year-old Daniel T. Minich had fired several shots from a handgun both inside and outside of his residence. A nearby occupied structure and a shed next to Minich’s home were hit by gunfire but no one was injured.
Minich refused to leave the house, and through negotiation and de-escalation officers convinced Minich to throw the gun out the front door and surrender.
A search warrant was executed at the residence, which allegedly turned up a large amount of methamphetamine.
Minich is being held without bail.
