The Eldred man charged with endangering the welfare of a child has been sentenced.
According to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, Phillip Haun Jr. was charged in August following a 2 day trial where he was found guilty of endangering a 9 year old child. The child told his teachers, a caseworker and forensic investigator that Haun Jr. had pointed a gun at him, threatening to shoot him because he had broken his glasses. Shaffer advised that she would pursue a deadly weapon enhancement at the time of sentencing which she did.
Haun Jr. was sentenced yesterday to 27 months to 72 months in state prison. Haun is ineligible for any early parole program, was ordered to have no contact with the child or the child’s immediate family, undergo mental health treatment and other unnamed terms.
I hope he leaves he leaves the family alone!
