Work is starting next week on an 8-mile stretch of road from McKean County to Potter County, and it’s expected to continue next spring.
PennDOT says the improvements on Route 155 will start at the intersection with Route 6 and go to the Potter County line. The work will be done during daylight hours, and flaggers will be in place. Drivers should expect short delays because of alternating traffic patterns.
Work this fall and next spring will focus on drainage improvements including new inlets and pipe extensions, as well as repairs to existing structures.
The project will also feature structure repairs on two bridges. This year, drivers will encounter temporary traffic signals at a small bridge on Route 155, spanning Buck Hollow Run near the village of Wrights. Crews will begin work as early as Monday to replace the bridge’s wing walls and make deck repairs.
In the spring, the large bridge near the Route 155/Route 6 intersection at the southern end of Port Allegany will get a new deck as well as repairs.
Also next week, drivers can expect crews to be patching Route 6 in Mount Jewett, along with routes 770, 219 and various routes in the Eldred area. They’ll also be doing bridge work on Route 346 in Duke Center and guiderail work on Route 446 in Eldred.
