Federal prosecutors have accused a Randolph postal employee of stealing gift cards from mail passing through the Randolph post office.
United States Attorney Trini E Ross reported Friday that 45-year-old Melissa Olson was charged with theft of mail, after an investigation which began in May of 2023, when a customer notified the US Postal Service of a missing gift card which had been sent to a Randolph address. Further investigation led prosecutors to Olson, who admitted to the thefts when interviewed.
If found guilty, Olson could face up to five years in prison, and up to $250,000 in fines. She was reportedly released on her own recognizance.
