You might think it’s a little early to be talking about winter weather but, according to AccuWeather, it’s really not.
Meteorologist Dave Dombek says cold air coming in from the Midwest could be enough for the first snowflakes of the season to fall sometime over the weekend, most likely Friday night.
Besides western Pennsylvania and western New York, snow is also likely in northern New York, northern New England and Ontario.
He says it’s possible that thunder and lightning will come with some of the snow, and that waterspouts may form over lakes Erie and Ontario.
But, Dombek says, the October cold spell won’t last long and should be limited to just a couple of days.
