Jason Dominguez went three for three with a three-run double that put the New York Yankees ahead in the sixth inning of a 4-2 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night.
A lot has been made about Dominguez and his success, or lack thereof, batting from the right-hand side. But that all changed on Tuesday night. Manager Aaron Boone: “ I think as much as anything, it’s an experience thing for him, ” said the Yankee skipper. “Not having a ton of experience just with some of the things he’s dealt with through the minor leagues. So that really shows up on the right side. He hasn’t had a lot of right-handed at-bats. So I think over time that. That will improve, and I think he’ll be productive from that side.”
Max Freed with another fine outing for the Yanks. He struck out seven in six and two-thirds innings. The Yankees will go for a three-game sweep today in a rematch of an AL Division Series won by the Yanks over the Royals in four games last October.
