The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Baseball team will be hosting a prospect and youth clinic in the month of February.
The first clinic will be held on Sunday, February 2nd, and is for prospect players in grades 9-12. The second clinic is for youth players ages 5-14 and will take place on Sunday, February 9th. All sessions will run from 12:30-2:30 p.m. with registration for the event beginning at 11:30. They will be held in the McDowell Sport and Recreation Center at 300 Campus Drive in Bradford.
They will cover hitting, pitching and catching. Pitchers and catchers will focus on establishing a throwing program, key points to live by, mechanical cues off the mound and the pitcher-catcher relationship. The hitting portion will focus on a player’s approach at the plate and the mental side of hitting. Additionally, attendees will learn of the importance of baseball-specific strength and conditioning, meet and learn from current Pitt-Bradford players and coaches and receive a campus tour. Players should bring tennis shoes, their glove, a bat and catcher’s gear if required.
The clinics will cost $30 per session. Checks can be made payable to the University of Pittsburgh. Questions and registration forms can be directed to Head Baseball Coach Zach Foster at zdf@pitt.edu or 814-362-7537. A registration form can be found here.
