A bill to legalize recreational marijuana was introduced Tuesday in the state House of Representatives, but don’t expect it to get very far.
Rep. Jake Wheatley introduced the bill that would create a permitting structure for growers, processors, and dispensaries. It would also lower initial application and permit fees, which Wheatley says would make it more accessible for businesses to enter the legal cannabis market.
Rep. Kathy Rapp, who chairs the House Health Committee, has said in the past she doesn’t plan on moving bills that legalize recreational marijuana.
