City of Bradford Police are looking for a man who took them on a chase from Euclid Avenue to Limestone in a stolen car with a stolen gun inside early this morning.
Police say 21-year-old James Peters III should be considered dangerous because he could have the stolen gun with him.
Police say at just before 12:30 this morning they saw a white Porche SUV on Euclid Avenue without its light on and tried to stop it, but the vehicle sped away, then got on East Main Street going toward Foster Township. During the chase, police learned the vehicle was stolen from Ridgway and there was a stolen gun from the same incident.
Police followed the SUV into Limestone, New York, where Peters got out of the vehicle and ran into a wooded area.
The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Department and New York State Police searched by land and air but couldn’t find Peters.
Two underage girls were in the vehicle. Officers on the scene took them into custody.
Police say he has ties to both McKean and Elk counties. Anyone who information on the whereabouts of James Peters is asked to contact their local police department.
Peters is facing charges of reckless endangerment, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, corruption of minors, and receiving stolen property, as wells as numerous summary traffic offenses.
