The Shenango has been named the 2021 Pennsylvania River of the Year.
In online voting the 82-mile river beat out the Buffalo, Loyalhanna and Tunkhannock creeks and the Lehigh River.
The Shenango River connects Pymatuning and Shenango lakes with the Beaver River.
Previous northwest Pennsylvania. waterways that have been voted rivers of the year upper portion of the Allegheny River, the Clarion River and Conewango Creek.
