The Olean Oilers may be getting a new lease on life from a potential new ownership team, including a former St. Bonaventure player.
TAPinto Greater Olean is reporting that former St. Bonaventure Baseball player and current member of the Detroit Tigers organization Cole Peterson is one of a group that are considering taking control of the minor league team.
Other reported members of the ownership group include Oilers director of operations Matt Fidurko, former Duquesne University baseball player Michael Beimel, former Major League Baseball pitcher Joe Beimel, and former Oiler Jimmy Webb.
Brian O’Connell, an Olean Attorney formed the summer collegiate team in 2012 and served as owner for eight seasons. He announced in January that he was stepping down as owner.
