The Republican Candidate for Governor is facing criticism after a photo of him in a Confederate uniform surfaced.
The photo, obtained by Reuters on Friday, is a 2013 faculty photo at the Army War College, where Doug Mastriano worked until his retirement in 2017. Reuters said that they were told that the people in the picture were given the option of dressing as a historical figure, and only Mastriano is shown wearing a Confederate uniform.
Democratic candidate Josh Shapiro has been critical of Mastriano for his courting racists and antisemites through online ads on racist websites.
Okay, this is really going too far. The Confederate uniform pose is nothing to get all butt – hurt over in and of itself ~ especially considering the context of location “Army War College”.
Probably not the best choice of attire for the campaign trail and I’m assuming the guy doesn’t wander around in one unless it’s some historical reenactment, etc.
Obviously, if the guy were wearing a KKK outfit or Neo-Nazi garb, then I could see something to make a stink about.
No, I’m not a Mastriano supporter and no, I’m not voting for the guy, but that’s based on other ideals. This mudslinging because a person is a Civil War buff is ludicrous and underhanded at best.
