K9s LG and Nico attended the Wellness Expo held at the Kane High School Thursday along with handlers Bob and Vicky Rinfrette and District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer.
They spoke to children about the dangers of drugs and reminded them that police officers are their friend as part of the DA’s “Support the Nose” campaign.
The campaign is designed to educate young children about the dangers of drugs as well as adults on how to identify drug paraphernalia. The K9s play a critical role in law enforcement and education and often accompany the District Attorney to school presentations about drugs, safe medication handling, and police officers. If you would like a presentation, please call the District Attorney’s Office at (814) 887-3312.
