The Bradford City Water Authority has learned of a problem with theft within its system.
At Wednesday’s meeting, the board received an update from Johnson Controls, the company handling the authority’s meter replacement project, who described the volume of “theft of water service” they discover during meter changes as “unsettling.”
Bradford City Water Authority Executive Director Steve Disney reminded Water and Sanitary Authority customers that theft of water service – including uncontrolled bypasses, unauthorized taps, and various other means used to alter, restrict, or outright steal water service – is a crime.
Water authorities are requesting that if anyone is aware of a suspected violation to please call the authority office directly at 814-362-3004, or local law enforcement at 911.
i have let them know about a slow leak for years near my home. I finally got sick of getting no response. Let it leak
Sounds just like what they do to us. Cry because you can’t log thousands of acres. Most corrupt organization around.
Yeah, you have a point there. I suppose we should log the City Timber, wreck the water quality of our two largest reservoirs in the area, and then **** and complain whenever they eventually jack up the water/sewer prices to compensate for extra treatment on the water. Look man, it is what it is. A crime to steal the water.
I always wondered why we should have to pay for water anyways, next we will have to pay for the air we breath.
